Sofía Vergara Had To Drop Out Of The Emmys At The Last Minute Due To The “Craziest” Medical Emergency — And It Looks Super Painful

From the nominees to the presenters, Sunday night’s Emmys was a star-studded affair. But one TV icon who missed out on the fun was Sofía Vergara.

For context, the Modern Family star had been set to present the award for best lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie. But on the night, she was nowhere to be seen.

Fortunately, Hunting Wives stars Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow took her place, presenting the Emmy to Stephen Graham for his performance in Adolescence. And after the show was over, Sofía took to Instagram to explain what went down.

“Didnt make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER 🤣😩” she wrote, giving fans a look at the painful situation. “sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye allergie [sic] right before getting in the car!🤣🤣”

Along with two videos of her in the hospital, Sofía posted a selfie showing her inflamed eye — and it looks seriously uncomfortable. Ouch.
