Tamar Braxton is sharing a harrowing experience that she says almost killed her this past weekend.
The singer and reality star posted on her Instagram stories about injuries she recently sustained. She doesn’t know how they happened.
“I struggled to write this but everyone keeps calling me and honestly, I can’t even really talk anymore I’m so weak,” Braxton, 48, said in her post. “I almost died Sunday.”
She continued sharing details about the mystery incident.
“I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury,” Braxton said. “As the days go by the worse it is. I fractured my nose, lost some teeth and mobility. The way I look at life now is totally different. As my health is on the mend my mental journey begins … pray for me for real. I don’t even know what happened to me.”
The Grammy-nominated “Love and War” singer has released five albums since 2000.
Her 2013 “Love and War” album, which was nominated for best urban contemporary album, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Braxton, whose sisters are the singers Toni Braxton (seven-time Grammy winner), Towanda Braxton and Trina Braxton, is also known for being a cast member on a series of reality shows starring her famous family. Her sister Traci Braxton, who died of cancer in 2022, was also a part of those shows.

The Braxton family’s shows include “The Braxtons” (2024, We TV), “Braxton Family Values” (2011 to 2020, We TV); “Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life!” (2020, We TV) and “Tamar & Vince” (2012 to 2017, We TV).
Braxton has also been a co-host on the talk show “The Real” and has appeared in reality series like “College Hill: Celebrity Edition” (2024, BET), “Queens Court” (2023, Peacock) and “The Surreal Life” (2022, VH1).
Her film credits include “Gangland: The Musical” (2018), “True to the Game 2″ (2020) and the TV movies “Hip Hop Family Christmas Wedding” (2022) and “Christmas Angel” (2023).
