Something special’s lurking in the tall grass, Trainers! One of the treasures of ruin, Wo-Chien, is appearing in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet 5-star Tera Raid Battles—and it’s Shiny! This Ruinous Pokémon has Grass as its Tera Type and will appear at Tera Raid crystals from Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 4:59 p.m. PDT—the first in a series of Tera Raid Battles featuring Shiny treasures of ruin!
From Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, Shiny Wo-Chien, Shiny Chien-Pao, Shiny Ting-Lu, and Shiny Chi-Yu will be appearing sequentially in 5-star Tera Raid Battles. Throughout this event series, Trainers worldwide can unite against Shiny Ruinous Pokémon…but there’s a twist.
Unlike most Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Tera Raid Battles, the four Pokémon appearing in these events cannot be caught upon being defeated. Instead, participating players must collectively achieve one million total victories before the conclusion of a given Pokémon’s event period for the opportunity to receive them through the Mystery Gift feature.
For example, if the total number of player victories against Shiny Wo-Chien meets or exceeds one million by Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 4:59 p.m. PDTShiny Wo-Chien will subsequently be available to claim via Mystery Gift from Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.
The final total of player victories against each featured Pokémon is scheduled to be announced at approximately 5:00 p.m. PDT on the Thursday following the conclusion of that Pokémon’s Tera Raid Battle event.

Launch your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet

Select Poké Portal on the X menu.

Select Mystery Gift, then select Get via Internet to connect to the internet.

Choose the gift you want to receive.

Watch as the gift arrives in your game.

Be sure to save your game.
For every one hundred thousand player victories collectively exceeding one million against a given featured Pokémon, players will also receive a Tera Shard Set containing 40 Tera Shards alongside the Shiny Pokémon Mystery Gift distribution. Trainers can receive up to 10 sets total per Shiny opponent.
The Shiny Wo-Chien, Shiny Chien-Pao, Shiny Ting-Lu, and Shiny Chi-Yu appearing during this event may be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods.
In a Tera Raid Battle, you’ll work together with three other Trainers to defeat powerful Tera Pokémon before time runs out. Work together with your friends to topple these mighty foes!
To challenge Shiny Wo-Chien, Trainers will need to either complete the main story or join 5-star Tera Raid Battles hosted by other Trainers in multiplayer.

Whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon. To find the featured Tera Pokémon, you’ll also need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. To do so, follow these steps:
