Ann Arbor and Detroit: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop after 4 p.m. today as clouds increase throughout the day. Temperatures will reach a high near 84 degrees.
The chance of precipitation during the day remains at 30%. The likelihood of rain increases significantly tonight, with showers and thunderstorms probable before 2 a.m., followed by a chance of showers continuing overnight. The National Weather Service puts the chance of precipitation at 70% for the evening hours.
Flint and Saginaw: Increasing clouds and a slight chance of rain are in the forecast for today, with thunderstorms possible by late afternoon.
Today’s high temperature will reach near 82 degrees with south southwest winds of 6 to 10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. There’s a 20% chance of showers between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., followed by a slight chance of both showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
The likelihood of precipitation increases significantly tonight, with a 60% chance of showers and possibly thunderstorms before midnight. Showers may continue between midnight and 3 a.m. under mostly cloudy skies.
Northern Lower Michigan: Thunderstorms are expected throughout the day, with the heaviest precipitation likely during the mid-afternoon hours.
Today will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature near 78 degrees. There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., followed by a more significant threat between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. when showers are likely and thunderstorms possible. After 5 p.m., the chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue.
Upper Peninsula: Rain showers, potentially mixed with a couple thunderstorms, are expected this morning in Upper Michigan. Expect showers to end from west to east in the afternoon. Tonight and Sunday, wildfire smoke may return to the area.
