That’s gonna leave a mark.
Keith Urban’s love for Nicole Kidman is etched in ink — even as the Oscar winner pulls the plug on their 19-year marriage.
The country singer, 57, has at least four tattoos dedicated to the “Moulin Rouge!” star, 58, who filed for divorce on Sept. 30, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple shares two daughters: model Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
In 2015, Kidman swooned about their relationship in an interview with Vogue. “I looked up at him at one point and I saw his tattoos and his foot going, and he had the guitar, and I was like, ‘God, I love that man. I’m so glad I’m in this world,’” she said.
What will happen to the “Somebody Like You” singer’s dedicated body art? For now, here’s a look at all four tattoos — and what they meant.
The ‘babygirl’ neck tattoo
Urban’s most intimate tribute sits hidden under his shaggy hair: the word “babygirl” inked on the back of his neck.
The cheeky nickname took on new meaning last year when Kidman starred in the erotic drama “Babygirl,” which hit theaters on Dec. 25, 2024. In the film, the actress plays a powerful CEO who jeopardizes her marriage and career over an illicit affair with a much younger intern.
“Keith’s not allowed to call anyone else babygirl. But now, because of the film, it’s taken on a different meaning. So he’s like, ‘No, I still have total rights over babygirl!’” Kidman told W Magazine in November 2024.
Urban used the pet name in a June 2019 anniversary post on Instagram, writing, “Thirteen years of magic, music, romance, wild adventures, and the ongoing discovery of pure love. Happy Anniversary Babygirl. xxxx – KU”
For their 19th anniversary this year, Kidman posted “Happy Anniversary Baby” on Instagram, but Urban only commented with a heart emoji and didn’t write his own post.
The ‘Nicole’ bicep tattoo
Urban’s most visible Kidman ink is a large “Nicole” tattoo on his bicep, which first appeared during his Live Earth New York performance in June 2007, a year after the pair married.
The tattoo is visible in many of Urban’s Instagram posts, including the 2019 tribute.
The ‘NMK’ wrist tattoo
Not content with just Kidman’s first name, Urban also got a simple tattoo of her initials — “NMK” — on the inside of his wrist.
The tribute is part of a larger piece of body art that covers matching ink Urban got with ex-girlfriend Niki Taylor, whom he dated for four years before marrying Kidman.
Urban and Taylor had gotten matching tattoos reading “amor vincit omnia” — a Latin phrase meaning “love conquers all.” Taylor has since covered up and removed her version of the ink, according to People.
The ‘Mary’ knuckle tattoo
Urban rounded out his Kidman collection with her middle name — Mary — tattooed across his knuckles in bold uppercase letters.
The tattoo was first spotted at the ACM Awards in April 2021, according to Us Weekly.
“I realized that I suddenly can’t wear any rings on that hand because otherwise her name becomes…various [words],” Urban joked in an interview that year with QX104 Country.
