Samsung Project Moohan XR headset’s pre-registration and launch dates surface

Samsung’s first Android XR headset, codenamed Project Moohan, was rumored to launch on September 29, but it has reportedly been delayed to October 21. While we are still awaiting official confirmation on that from Samsung, a new media report has revealed when the Korean brand will begin pre-registrations for its first XR headset.

According to ChosunBiz, Samsung will begin pre-registrations for Project Moohan on October 15, which will continue until October 21. The launch is now scheduled for October 22. This timeline likely only applies to South Korea, as Project Moohan is said to be available there first, with availability gradually expanding to other markets later.

Samsung has developed Project Moohan with Google and Qualcomm. It runs Android XR and is powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip. Previous rumors had claimed that Project Moohan would be priced between KRW2,500,000 ($1,785) and KRW4,000,000 ($2,855) in South Korea, and Samsung aims to ship around 100,000 units of the headset. However, the number will be adjusted according to demand.
