It’s been more delayed than many have expected, but Samsung is finally making progress on its Android 16 rollout, with the One UI 8 beta today expanding to a handful of 2024 Galaxy devices ahead of its stable release next month.
One UI 8’s debut has been split into two places. The first beta landed on the Galaxy S25 series in May, and the first stable release is live on Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. But Samsung’s plans were shrouded in mystery for quite some time. That silence finally broke earlier this month with the reveal that the One UI 8 beta would be expanding ahead of a stable rollout beginning in September.
Now, the day has arrived.
Samsung has started rolling out One UI 8 in beta to Galaxy devices from 2024 including the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy foldables. The full list of devices gaining support today include:
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24+
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Flip 6
SammyGuru, Tarun Vats, and others have spotted the beta program going live, but it’s not yet available in all regions. Currently, it’s available in the UK as well as Korea, but should be expanding over the next few days. The US and India are both confirmed to get the beta.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 series will be getting a new beta build in the near future, and those devices will be first in line for the stable update in September. Per a recent leak, the Galaxy S23 series will get access to the beta in the first week of September.
