Newly leaked software animations from Samsung give us a bigger glimpse into the Galaxy TriFold’s multitasking, and it looks like a productivity powerhouse.
We’ve seen these types of leaks before. In fact, it’s really all we’ve seen. Renders and real-life images have been hiding just under the surface.
Still, these new official-looking animations give us a better picture of what Samsung’s Galaxy TriFold will be able to do. In several videos posted on Twitter/X by @TechHighest and @evowizz, big portions of One UI on the TriFold are shown in decent detail.
The first few videos highlight the nuance of One UI on the extra-large foldable. Some familiar features like “continue apps on main screen” make an appearance. Samsung’s Internet app is also shown with Galaxy AI activated. That feature makes use of the wider screen by taking up about a third of the app without opening a separate window.
The big takeaway here is just how much screen space is available even after opening Galaxy AI. It takes up a healthy amount of real estate, but the website that’s open doesn’t get crushed or take on a terrible format ratio.
Another video shows what it looks like to answer or make a call. Calls, when Samsung’s Galaxy TriFold is opened all the way, take up a floating window that can be moved around with One UI’s multitasking controls.
What hasn’t been seen yet is the fully extended Galaxy TriFold in portrait mode. Turning the phone so it resembles an e-reader can rotate the home screen. That’s nothing new, but it’s a neat look into the existing function on a new form factor. Doing the same on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 wouldn’t allow as many apps or widgets.
The posted videos go on to show DeX in action and more of One UI’s multitasking. In almost every aspect of these animations, the Galaxy TriFold can be mistaken for the Galaxy Tab S11 or another of Samsung’s tablets. Multitasking is the same, and DeX functions in a very similar manner.
Another small, but interesting, note is in the foldable’s camera pp. One clip is shown, with optical and digital zoom in use. The animation shows a 100x option, which is new for a Samsung foldable. It’s unclear if this is going to be a final feature, marking the inclusion of a periscope lens or something similarly capable.
These leaked videos come as Samsung is nearing the official release of its Galaxy TriFold, which may or may not release in the US. Recent rumors suggest the phone could be announced as early as the next couple of months.
