Three weeks ago, Samsung opened the One UI 8.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A56. Today, the company ended that beta program and released the stable One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update for the Galaxy A36. It will be released worldwide in the next few weeks.
Galaxy A36 gets stable Android 16 and One UI 8.0 update
The stable One UI 8.0 update, based on Android 16, is now available for the Galaxy A36 in South Korea. It comes with firmware version A366NKSU2BYI9 and includes the September 2025 security patch. This update could soon be released in other countries worldwide.
The new software update brings several new and improved features, better privacy, and stronger security. The Quick Share now has a more intuitive UI, while Samsung Internet and My Files have received UI redesigns. Alarm, Calendar, and Reminder have received more item management features. One UI 8.0 also introduces more UI customization features to the device.
If you have a Galaxy A36 and live in South Korea, you can check for the new update by heading over to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap the Install now button to start the installation process. Your phone will restart once during this process, and you can then start using One UI 8.0.
Samsung had originally planned to release the stable One UI 8.0 update for the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A56 in October 2025, but the company has postponed the release, as both phones have already received the update in South Korea.
The Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A56 will get five more Android OS updaets in the future.
