Following Google’s stable rollout of Android 16 in June and several betas, Samsung is finally releasing its first stable Android 16 update with One UI 8 now rolling out to Galaxy S25 owners.
Samsung launched One UI 8 in beta back in July, and has since launched the stable version on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7, with a beta program ongoing for numerous other devices. As of today, though, the first stable updates are now rolling out.
As reported by SammyGuru and others, the Galaxy S25 series is now receiving a stable One UI 8 update based on Android 16. The update is rolling out starting in Korea, but is likely to expand to other regions in a matter of days. So far, the update is rolling out for those who were previously enrolled in the beta. Our Damien Wilde has also confirmed that the update is rolling out to his Galaxy S25 Ultra in the UK, meaning the global rollout may have already begun in some regions.
The update is rolling out to the full Galaxy S25 series as SamMobile points out, including:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25+
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
- Galaxy S25 Edge
Per a recent schedule that leaked, the rollout may start sometime next week in other regions, with Galaxy S24 series devices and foldables set to follow closely behind. The rollout is likely to continue through at least November, though.
Samsung, in a news release, confirmed that the update is now rolling out in the US for Galaxy S25 series devices. The company says to expect broader availability on “the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S24 FE and other selected products” through October.
