The new patch for Street Fighter 6 has been made live. Though this patch provided a number of adjustments and bug fixes, the most notable thing about it is the addition of Sagat as a playable character.
As expected, Sagat’s playstyle follows the traditional “Shoto” archetype. He’s the type of fighter that forces opponents to become impatient through the usage of his powerful fireball game until he’s able to predict jump in attempts.
It turns out that Sagat’s anti-air capabilities are especially dangerous in Street Fighter 6. One bad jump in can cause him to delete about half of an opponent’s health bar.
This sequence begins by hitting with Sagat’s forward and heavy kick as a counter hit. These requires quite a bit of space to hit against a jumping opponent, but it’s not too difficult to set up with Sagat’s oppressive fireball game.
By linking into Sagat’s level 2 super art, the opponent can be returned back into a juggle state. From here, it’s necessary to spend one bar of Drive Gauge to continue the combo.
Towards the end of the combo, it’s possible to keep the jumper juggled with three Overdrive High Tiger Shot projectiles. Finally, Sagat’s level 1 super art travels across the screen so quickly that it can hit the opponent from full screen before they can hit the ground.
