Clark, who hurt her groin earlier this week, has dealt with a plethora of injuries this WNBA season. When healthy, she’s been great for the Indiana Fever. As you’d imagine, she’s not happy about missing the All-Star Game and 3-point contest this weekend.
“I’m so excited for Indy to host WNBA All-Star this weekend. I know this will be the best All-Star yet,” Clark said. “I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can’t participate in the 3-Point Contest or the All-Star Game. I have to rest my body. I will still be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I’m looking forward to helping Sandy [Brondello] coach our team to a win.”
Speaking to the media this Friday morning, New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu was asked about Clark’s injury. She offered some advice to the two-time All-Star.

“I’ve been able to talk to her a lot through this process,” Ionescu said. “Honestly, I went through something kind of similar in my career. My first year I didn’t play due to injury, and then in my second year I had a few soft-tissue injuries. You look back and it’s kind of a blessing in disguise because you’re able to just learn and grow and understand it’s just part of your journey.”
Ionescu then gave Clark credit for impacting the league even when she’s not available to play.
“It’s really unfortunate that we don’t have her but she means a lot more to the game than just showing up and playing. And I think you’re able to see that with the excitement in Indy right now.”

Most fans praised Ionescu for her classy remarks this Friday.
“Love Sabrina. Always a class act,” one person said.
“I love Sabrina and I love the fact that she has been there for CC through all of this. She does truly get it she kind of was CC before CC in the WNBA in a way even now down to the injuries,” a fan wrote on X.
“Sabrina is a true class act. It shows on and off the court. I’m glad CC has a friend like that,” another person said.
Ionescu is set to compete in her fourth All-Star Game. There’ll be plenty of fans cheering her on this Saturday in Indy.
