Sabrina Carpenter keeps looking to the fashion greats.

The 26-year-old singer kicked off the release of Man’s Best Friend with a super sexy music video for the track, “Tears,” and true to Carpenter’s pop star ways, the five-minute clip was packed with a whole lot of fashion, more specifically, disco fashion.

According to Carpenter’s stylist, Jared Ellner, one of the looks pulled for the ’70s-inspired video was an archival Victoria’s Secret lingerie set that was first modeled by Naomi Campbell in 2003.

In a sequence that kicks off with a dance break alongside Colman Domingo dressed in drag, Carpenter wears a whimsical metallic fringe chainmail halter top with matching arm cuffs and a pair of mirrorball bottoms decked out in ruffles and sequins. The 22-year-old ensemble, which appeared to be remade custom for Carpenter, was teamed with silver heels.

Carpenter and Ellner have proven to be big fans of Victoria’s Secret. Not only did they source another archival Campbell-worn outfit for her TIME cover, but the duo also tapped the brand to design a series of crystal bodysuits for the Short n’ Sweet Tour.

Ellner was also not alone in curating Carpenter’s ’70s fantasy as he was joined by makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez, hairstylist Evanie Frausto and nail artist Zola Ganzorigt.

Gonzalez created a sparkly eye look to pair with Carpenter’s signature lined lips (but in a spicy red hue), while Frausto transformed Carpenter’s blonde banged hairstyle into a mega-curled look that has us calling our hairdressers. Ganzorigt nailed silver French-style tips to truly complete the wardrobe, which also featured Versace and jewelry brand Brilliant Earth.

Man’s Best Friend was released on Aug. 29 and is Carpenter’s seventh studio album. In a CBS Mornings interview with Gayle King, the singer addressed how “sexual,” “powerful” and “vulnerable” her music could be, adding that her latest work might — or might not be — for the prudes.

The album is not for any pearl-clutchers,” she said, before pivoting: “No, but I also think that even pearl-clutchers can listen to an album like that in their own solitude and find something that makes them smirk and chuckle to themselves….”

“That’s the thing, is sometimes people hear the lyrics that are really bold or they go, ‘I don’t want to sing this in front of other people.’ It’s like it’s almost too … it’s TMI,” explained Carpenter. “But I think about being at a concert with, you know, however many young women I see in the front row that are screaming at the top of their lungs with their best friends. And you can go like, ‘Oh, we can all sigh of relief like, ‘This is just fun.’ And that’s all it has to be.”

During an Aug. 29 Q&A event with Spotify and actor Owen Thiele, Carpenter shared more about writing the record. “I started writing this album pretty much the day after I finished Short n’ Sweet because I was in the midst of a lot, personally, in my head, and I was like, ‘It would be really bad if I just stopped writing,'” Carpenter said.

“When I started writing the rest of the album and there was some reoccurring themes, I thought, ‘I think this all goes together in one place and it should be while I’m still this confused and young.'”
