This is Rumor Replay, a weekly column at 9to5Mac offering a quick rundown of the most recent Apple product rumors, with analysis and commentary. Today: M5 product launches ‘imminent,’ a curious MacBook Pro rumor, and a foldable iPhone update. Here are this week’s Apple rumors.
M5 iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro now seem likely to launch soon

We’re getting closer to the M5 chip’s debut, and now it seems like Apple might be preparing up to three new products for the launch.
This week Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that the M5 iPad Pro and new Vision Pro launches are “imminent.”
Not long after, Gurman shared his findings of dwindling stock of M4 MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models in the Apple Store.
Thus, it sounds like we might be getting the M5 iPad Pro, Vision Pro, and MacBook Pro all soon—or at least, one M5 MacBook Pro model.
My takeaways
Prior rumors had said the M5 iPad Pro and new Vision Pro were highly likely to launch this month. So Gurman’s latest reporting simply reaffirms that.
But the mention of constrained M4 MacBook Pro stock is especially curious for two reasons. It indicates that:
- The M5 MacBook Pro may launch this month too
- There might be a delayed launch for the M5 Pro and M5 Max models of MacBook Pro
Reports have long been uncertain around the timing of the M5 MacBook Pro’s launch, but all signs indicated it would either arrive this month, or in early 2026.
Reduced stock of the M4 MacBook Pro implies an October launch for the MacBook Pro with base M5 chip is coming. But Apple might perhaps choose to ship the M5 Pro and M5 Max at a later date.
If that happens, we could always still get announcements of the M5 Pro and M5 Max soon, with availability coming later. Or Apple could choose to not detail those models at all until early next year.
One way or another, we should get details from Apple in the coming weeks.
iPhone Fold could use titanium-aluminum hybrid

Analyst Jeff Pu reported this week that next year’s foldable iPhone will use a combination of titanium and aluminum in its design.
We have previously heard that titanium would be used for the device, just like the iPhone Air. And one report claimed stainless steel would be employed too. But this is the first mention of a titanium-aluminum hybrid.
My takeaways
I expect that just like the iPhone Air required all kinds of Apple innovations to become reality, we’ll see similar design advancements with the foldable iPhone.
Beyond the rumored crease-free display, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a unique design that borrows certain features from iPhone Air and others from the iPhone Pro.
More interesting to me than design materials is the foldable iPhone’s positioning by Apple. I made the case this week for it perhaps being branded ‘iPhone Ultra.’
