In this edition of RPGs Coming This Week, we tackle a small but heavy-hitting — and visually pleasing — lineup. A modern isometric CRPG, bright new otome title, and free-to-play action RPG with production values out the wazoo is a lot of audiences served. And if you don’t care for any of that, we’ve also got a few remasters/ports to tide you over. Let’s check out everything coming this week!

Rue Valley – November 11th (PS5, XSX, Switch, Windows)

Rue Valley is an isometric narrative RPG about a man trapped in a time loop, Eugene Harrow. At the beginning of the game, you craft your personality, which shapes your dialogue options and interactions throughout the story. Whether you play as a cold-hearted loner or a melodramatic loudmouth, your choices will drastically alter how the game unfolds.

You start your journey in the Rue Valley Motel, a strange retreat where you’ll face mental challenges and social anxiety. Each day feels like a battle against the shadows of your own mind, and eerily, each day feels the same. Your goal is to break free from this mysterious time loop while finding the strength to rise above adversity and forge a better future… or past, since you’re stuck in a loop, remember?

You’ll meet a captivating cast of characters, each struggling with their own inner demons. As you get to know them, you’ll uncover their secrets and piece together the deeper mysteries of Rue Valley. All of this plays out in a stunning comic book art style, and you can already catch a glimpse of it in the demo on Steam!

Mistonia’s Hope -The Lost Delight- – November 13th (Switch)

Screenshot of Mistonia's Hope -The Lost Delight-, one of the RPGs coming this week

Mistonia’s Hope -The Lost Delight- is an otome visual novel set in the fantastical Grand Albion, a human realm that fell under the protection of the fae many years ago. The protagonist is Aprose, a woman seeking revenge for the devastating loss of her village, including her entire family, due to the innocently cruel whims of the purefae ruler Faerie Queen Tia. Aprose disguises herself as a humble maid for one of the land’s great noble houses so that she can gather intel and strike back at those who wronged her when the opportunity presents itself. Will her quest for vengeance take unexpected turns once hidden truths come to light?

The colorful artwork alongside the revenge-tinged premise of Mistonia’s Hope -The Lost Delight- has me quite curious. I’m eager to discover if the premise can weave believably developed romance into its narrative given the VN’s otome roots. We shall see just what the lost delight alluded to in the title is when Mistonia’s Hope -The Lost Delight- releases on the Nintendo Switch later this week!

Where Winds Meet – November 14th (PS5, Windows)

Where Winds Meet is an open-world action-adventure RPG set in ancient China during the tenth century. The developers describe it as a Wuxia game, a genre of fiction centered on the adventures of martial arts warriors and knights-errant who fight against evil and injustice, often possessing supernatural abilities.

You play as a young sword master, uncovering forgotten truths in the captivating era of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. Here, epic-scale battles and legendary tales come to life, and every path is filled with secrets and adventure. Explore a living world, from vast cities ruled by rival factions to hidden temples deep within lush forests. Everything is shaped by your choices; you are the spark that ignites change in this land. You can approach combat in multiple ways: melee, ranged, or stealth. Build your character as you wish, wielding classic Wuxia weapons such as swords, spears, fans, and even umbrellas. Choose your role, faction, and profession to define your identity.

The game offers rich solo gameplay with a narrative-driven adventure, a co-op mode for up to four players, and even a full MMO mode where you can see countless other players in the open world and interact with them through PvP, PvE, guild wars, multiplayer dungeons, and more. Where Winds Meet will be free to play, featuring a gacha system for skins and an endless variety of quests.

Also Coming This Week

Atelier Ryza Secret Pack – November 13th (PS5, PS4, Switch 2, Switch, Windows)

Gust and Koei Tecmo are putting out enhanced versions of the Atelier Ryza trilogy this week. Long-time fans should be familiar with what these DX rereleases entail; expect new story content, additional costumes (including all prior DLC cosmetics), graphical improvements, and new quality-of-life features.

You’ll be able to purchase each game separately or as a bundle on PC and/or any console not named Xbox. Getting these physically is slightly more complicated if you live in the US; import copies with English support can be had via VGP, Play-Asia, and other vendors.

Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 – November 13th (Switch 2)

If there’s one thing you can rely on SEGA to do every single year, it’s porting their Yakuza back catalog to new platforms. This week, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are making their way to Switch 2. If you’re gearing up for Yakuza Kiwami 3, you might want to play these first.
