One of music’s rising stars was forced to cancel a concert at the last minute.
Benson Boone, a singer known for his showstopping power ballad “Beautiful Things,” called off his show in Birmingham, England about an hour before it was scheduled to begin due to illness.
In a statement posted on his Instagram account, the American singer-songwriter apologized to fans and said he had “tried everything” to revive his voice, but he would not be able to perform the show he wanted to due to the “condition of my throat”.
Boone was set to perform at the 15,800-seat Utilita Arena on Saturday evening as part of his American Heart Tour. The singer said he is working with his team to find a date to reschedule as soon as possible.
“I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you”, he said.
Boone is scheduled to perform three shows in London starting on Monday and it looks like they will happen without incident.
“It’s on London,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.
