Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE title took place at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st 2025. Here are the highlights…

Per the stipulation, Cody would lose the WWE Title by disqualification or count-out. McIntyre had Lilian Garcia introduce him as “The Real American Dream.”

Early in the match, McIntyre tried to get Cody to fight on the outside for the chance of a potential count-out. McIntyre also pushed Cody toward the referee in an attempt to cause a disqualification. Cody lost his temper, and the referee nearly stopped the match. McIntyre threw Cody over the barricade and tried to get the count-out victory.

After McIntyre dominated for a few minutes, Cody was able to make a comeback with moves that included a cutter. McIntyre brought the World Title into the ring, and after Cody grabbed it away, McIntyre delivered a “flash” Claymore, but Cody kicked out. McIntyre knocked Cody off the apron, and he crashed through the announcer desk but managed to beat the referee’s ten count.

After Cody avoided a Claymore, he went for a springboard cutter but tweaked his knee. Cody managed to recover and hit the cutter, but McIntyre kicked out. Shortly after this, the referee was accidentally knocked down, and McIntyre brought the title back into the ring. After Cody gave McIntyre a DDT on the belt, the referee recovered. Cody then delivered a Cross Rhodes and won the match.
