The real reason why Ozzy Osbourne’s private funeral was held at his and Sharon’s mansion in Buckinghamshire, with just 110 guests in attendance, has been revealed
The reason behind Ozzy Osbourne’s intimate private burial ceremony on Thursday, July 31, nine days following the legendary rocker’s passing on July 22 at age 76, has now come to light. The exclusive service, attended by family members and select invited guests, came after his public funeral procession on Wednesday, July 30, which drew crowds that Birmingham City Council reported stretched over a mile with tens of thousands of mourners in attendance.
Sources indicate that despite making a heartfelt appearance during the procession, his widow, Sharon, 72, lacked the emotional strength for a large-scale service, leading to the decision for an intimate gathering. Before his burial, close friends had expressed worry about the former X-Factor judge, revealing the family’s desire to keep arrangements modest to support her during this difficult time.
“In the end, he died peacefully at home with all the family with him. It’s a lovely house, and Sharon wanted to bring him back from LA,” an insider revealed.

“I don’t know if she will feel strong enough to have a big memorial for all the people who want to say goodbye to him. We think she may want to bury him privately at home, in the garden,” they shared with Mail Online.
“Sharon is very, very fragile. This is the heaviest blow. Ozzy was her life. The whole point of her life was him. They were each other’s best friend. We don’t know what she will do or how she will cope,” the source disclosed to the publication. Ozzy was laid to rest in the sprawling grounds of his $26 million, 250-acre estate in Buckinghamshire, reports the Express.
The rock legend was buried next to a decorative lake on his property.
His name was boldly displayed in large purple letters across the lawn while gifts and tributes from fans adorned the exterior walls. Security personnel were on high alert to prevent any uninvited guests from crashing the private event.
The road leading up to the mansion was closed off from 1 p.m., and police cars patrolled the area to ensure no one slipped through.
Guests received a simple black invitation featuring an image of a cross and the words: “In loving memory of Ozzy Osbourne.”
The private gathering was filled with celebrities as Ozzy’s famous friends came to pay their final respects.
Only 110 of his closest family and friends joined Sharon and his children, Jack, 39, Kelly, 40, Aimee, 41, and Louis, 50, Ozzy’s son from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, for the service.
His Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward were present, along with Metallica stars James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo.
Yungblud, who impressed the audience with his rendition of Ozzy’s hit song Changes at the Back to the Beginning concert, was also on the guest list. Controversial rocker Marilyn Manson was seen heading to the service, as was filmmaker and musician Rob Zombie.
