This will be the 20th preseason meeting between the Raiders and Seahawks, with Seattle leading the series, 13-6. The last time the two teams met in the preseason was in Las Vegas on August 14, 2021, resulting in a 20-7 Raiders win.
The Seahawks starters won’t be playing in this preseason matchup, per Coach Mike Macdonald, meaning we’ll see Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe at quarterback.
For the Silver and Black, Raiders starters could be in line to play as Pete Carroll said Tuesday, “Everybody’s live. Everybody’s ready to go.”
Notably, Carroll and Geno Smith will be making their return together to Seattle, where they spent 14 and five seasons, respectively. Last season, Smith led the Seahawks to a 10-7 record while completing 407-of-578 passes for 4,320 yards and 21 touchdowns. He joined the Raiders via trade in March.
“Man, looking forward to it,” Smith said of returning to Lumen Field. “Really looking forward to it. Looking forward to seeing my old teammates, old coaches, people in the building. It’ll be fun. Also going back with Pete, that’s pretty cool. And then another opportunity to compete with my guys. That’s always what it’s all about.”
