Are you really an online multiplayer shooter in 2025 if you don’t ship with a Battle Royale mode? That is the mantra most FPS titles subscribe to nowadays, and it seems Battlefield 6 will also ship with one.
The upcoming PS5 title will receive its multiplayer unveiling later this week on 31st July, but one mode already doing the rounds via a map leak is the Battle Royale offering, courtesy of social media leaker Temporyal. They claim to have seen the Battle Royale mode’s map and have made a recreation of it in the post below (via Eurogamer):
Again, this is not the official Battle Royale map, but a recreation based on what the leaker has seen. They then highlight various points of interest and claim the map itself is called Lyndon Beach. A Battle Royale mode for the game has been rumoured in the past, and is also speculated to be made available standalone as a free download.
Battlefield 6 will ship with a single player campaign and its usual multiplayer suite, which has been described as “the ultimate all-out warfare experience”. We’ll learn much more this Thursday, and a Battle Royale mode could be part of that unveiling.
This wouldn’t be the first time a Battlefield title has come with a Battle Royale mode, as Battlefield V was updated after launch with Firestorm. We described the offering as “too little, too late” at the time, though, concluding: “The mode is fine in its own right, hardcore players are sure to latch onto it, but when you compare it to what’s already on the market, it pales in comparison to the likes of Apex Legends.”
