PS Plus Essential August 2025 monthly free games have begun rolling out, starting with Japan and Asia where it’s Tuesday, August 5. The lineup will go live in remaining regions at noon local time on tomorrow, making this your last chance to claim July’s monthly games.
PS Plus August 2025 free games are a stellar Essential lineup
For the second month in a row, Sony has surprised members of the most basic PS Plus tier by offering award-winning games. In July, subscribers were treated to Diablo IV (PS4, PS5), The King of Fighters XV (PS4, PS5), and Jusant. This time, we’re getting hit Bloodborne-like RPG The Lies of P (PS5, PS4).
Accompanying The Lies of P are Day Z (PS4) and My Hero One’s Justice 2 (PS4).
As a reminder, Lies of P recently received new DLC “Overture,” which is available for purchase on the PS Store for $29.99.
Following a series of underwhelming offerings, these lineups are extra special for PS4 players because starting January 2026, Sony will be focusing on adding PS5 games to PS Plus. This doesn’t mean that we won’t see another PS4 game on the service. However, they might be few and far between.
Enjoy it while it lasts!
