What better way to celebrate Labor Day than winning a cool $1 billion-plus?
No tickets matched all six numbers drawn in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing, pushing the jackpot to an estimated $1.1 billion – the game’s fifth-largest prize ever. If the winner opts for a one-time cash payout, they will receive $498.4 million. Both prize amounts are before taxes.
The next drawing is Monday night. Saturday’s numbers were 3, 18, 22, 27, 33 and red Powerball 17. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
40th drawing since the jackpot was won
The Labor Day Powerball drawing is the 40th since the jackpot was last won in California on May 31. To date, the longest Powerball jackpot run has been 42 consecutive drawings, which was set on April 6, 2024, with a $1.326 billion jackpot winner in Oregon.
Tickets are $2 per play and are available in 45 states (but not Alabama). Drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. CT and streamed live at Powerball.com.
If you do get a ticket, you may want to wait a while before spending your winnings. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
