Pokémon Legends: Z-A Scored US’ Biggest Physical Game Launch Since TOTK

Another case of the online whinging (dare I say “hate”) not matching reality. If all that hysteria was truly indicative, the Switch 2 (supposedly too expensive) would be already on heavy discount, DK Bonanza (supposedly just a punching game) would be in landfill next to ET, Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 (supposedly a trashy port driven by Nintendo greed) would see the Mario Galaxy movie cancelled, and now Pokemon Legends ZA (supposedly too bland and too different) would destroy Pokemon forever.

Can we stop listening to “online” whinging?

For one, emotion drives comments, and there’s few more powerful emotions than negativity and hate.

Second, much of the worst whinging is in forums open to the haters and never buyers.

Both of these phenomena heavily distort the general community sentiment, and clearly don’t represent the actual target audience, which is the Nintendo community. If you read this site, for example, you get a far honest and open minded response. While many of us complained about the Switch 2 price (including myself), almost to a person we also said we would still buy it! Most of us were open minded about DK and Pokemon, and understood Galaxies would be exciting for many people. Pokemon Legends ZA is not even a mainline Pokemon game anyway. Its sales are more than respectable.
