Rookidee takes the spotlight during Pokémon Go’s August Community Day event on Saturday 30th August from 2pm to 5pm (local time).
During August’s Community Day event, you’ll have the chance to catch both a shiny Rookidee and a Rookidee with 100% perfect IV stats. Just make sure you’re catching as many Rookidee as possible in Pokémon Go to make these dreams a reality!
Alongside Rookidee popping up all over the place, there’s also a selection of August Community Day bonuses to take advantage of. This includes a very useful quarter egg hatch distance bonus.

How to get shiny Rookidee
Shiny Rookidee, shiny Corvisquire and shiny Corviknight were released last month, at the start of Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales. Since it’s a relatively new shiny, there’s a good chance that many Trainers are still missing it!
This is a pretty cool shiny family, leaning into the eventual Steel typing of its final evolution, Corviknight. Rookidee swaps its kingfisher blue, black and yellow for a yellow, black and off-white motif, almost like an inverted great tit. Since these are Galarian Pokémon, and Galar was based on the UK, we like the nod to these British birds (even if we’re amused that kingfishers are significantly rarer than the very common great tit).
Rookidee evolves into Corvisquire. Shiny Corvisquire swaps its blue feathers for shades of light grey, with its black feathers turning a dark grey, in a nod to its evolution shiny Corviknight actually looking like a knight. Where the regular is a deep indigo, shiny Corviknight is a grey tone that actually looks like medieval plate Armor. Since this Pokémon is a Steel/Flying type, this colour works very well, as you can see below.

Every Community Day sees the shiny odds for its chosen Pokémon – in this case Rookidee – increased. As such, you shouldn’t have much trouble tracking down a shiny Rookidee! Simply keep clicking on Rookidee until you see a shiny one. Of course, if you want to increase your chances further, you can always use an Incense to boost the number of Rookidee spawns you encounter.
Rookidee 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go

August’s Community Day is the perfect time to find a Rookidee with perfect IV stats. These are 15/15/15 stats you’re looking for to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and Master League.
If you’re at least Level 30 (or above), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Rookidee:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 571 CP
- Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) – 619 CP
The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we’ve kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you’re currently below Level 30.
Rookidee’s Community Day move
If you evolve a Corvisquire into Corviknight between the beginning of the event at 10pm (local time) on Saturday 6th September, Corviknight will learn Air Cutter – a Flying-type Charged Attack which is frankly pretty weak. It’s like a more expensive and less efficient Aerial Ace!
While the exclusive move Hydro Cannon is available for a good while after Community Day ends (an entire week!), we recommend getting it during the event hours of 2pm to 5pm (local time). It’s too easy to finish playing, start dinner and then forget to evolve your Pokémon. Ideally speaking, wait until the end of the event (or your play session) so you can evolve the Pokémon with the best IVs into the strongest Corviknight.

Best Corviknight moveset recommendation in Pokémon Go
Corviknight isn’t bad in Go Battle League – it’s a top-five Flying type in Great League and the second-best Steel-type in this meta. XL Corviknight really shines un Ultra League, however, where it is both the top Flying and Steel-Pokémon. If you’re keen on PVP, this is a great Community Day for picking up the Rookidee Candy XL that you’ll need to win big in Ultra League.
As of this Community Day, our recommendation for Corviknight’s best moveset in Pokémon Go is Sand Attack as a Fast Move with Sky Attack and Iron Head as Charged Moves. This moveset is pretty agile and its bulk makes up for the low Fast Move pressure that Sand Attack lays down.
If you are interesting in using Corviknight, here’s Corviknight’s full Pokémon Go moveset:

Fast Moves
- Air Slash (Flying)
- Sand Attack (Ground)
- Steel Wing (Steel)
Charged Moves
- Iron Head (Legacy, Steel)
- Payback (Dark)
- Sky Attack (Flying)
August in Pokémon Go is coming to a close with the Sunkissed Shores event and the release of Dondozo! There also levelling changes coming soon.
You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest.
Don’t forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you’re hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
