Pixel Watch 4, Pixel 10 Pro Fold may be delayed to October

According to a new report, a portion of the new devices Google will be launching later this month won’t actually arrive in the hands of customers until October, including Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

WinFuture, citing “well-informed sources,” reports that Google will announce the Pixel Watch 4, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel Buds 2a alongside the rest of its Pixel 10 lineup this month, but they won’t be hitting the market for a while. Instead, these devices won’t be released until October 9, more than a month after the expected August 28 release date for Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.

The report mentions “supply chain issues” which are possibly responsible for the delays, but there’s no specific reason given.

This sort of delay isn’t unprecedented.

Last year, the situation was even more complex. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL both hit shelves on August 22, a little over a week after the August 13 launch event, but the smaller Pixel 9 Pro didn’t arrive until September 4 alongside the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Pixel Watch 3 didn’t arrive until September 10, roughly a month after its announcement, with Pixel Buds Pro 2 not arriving until September 26. Google didn’t provide an explicit reason for this delay last year, so we don’t expect any reasons to be provided this time around either.

The month-and-a-half delay on half of Google’s lineup is certainly going to deflate a bit of the excitement from users, but there’s still quite a bit to look forward to, as countless leaks have detailed. It’s unclear based on this report when pre-orders for these delayed devices will open up.

What do you think of this potential delay?
