Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson was reportedly the victim of a crime during the team’s trip to Ireland ahead of the Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Thompson was “jumped and robbed” on Friday night in Dublin. Thompson suffered minor injuries after the attack but is doing OK, Pelissero added.
“The Steelers’ trip to Dublin wasn’t without some drama: Sources say backup QB Skylar Thompson got jumped and robbed Friday night in Dublin,” Pelissero reported. “Thompson, who is on injured reserve, suffered minor injuries but is OK and with the team.”
The Steelers have released a statement on the matter. It reads as follows:
“We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin. We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident,” spokesman Burt Lauten said.

Thompson signed with the Steelers in free agency in the offseason and competed for the No. 3 quarterback job with rookie Will Howard, a role he was able to grab after Howard suffered a broken finger in training camp.
However, Thompson landed on injured reserve himself after Week 1 and will be out through at least Week 5.
A former seventh-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2022, Thompson has played in 10 games during his career, seeing three starts in that span.
