Pittsburgh Steelers DT Derrick Harmon carted off field with injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers have looked sloppy thus far in their preseason finale vs. the Carolina Panthers. However, the most important part of preseason is leaving healthy. Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, it looks like they won’t be that lucky.

First-round pick Derrick Harmon was carted to the locker room. It’s unclear what caused his injury, as he was carted from the sideline. He went to the medical tent following an interception by James Pierre, and was taken to the locker room afterwards.

The Steelers drafted Harmon with their first-round pick out of Oregon this past April, and he was named a starter almost immediately. Losing him for any amount of time would be a massive blow to their defense. Behind The Steel Curtain will provide updates as soon as they become available.
