Paris Jackson revealed she has ended her relationship with fiancé Justin Long and called off their wedding days after photos of her crying in public were released.
The 27-year-old singer-songwriter, the only daughter of the late Michael Jackson, confirmed her breakup from the music producer on X on July 31.
Jackson responded to a post from the Daily Mail showing emotional photos of her crying while out for a stroll in Los Angeles. While the tabloid initially linked the photos, which were published on July 23, to the June 25 anniversary of her father’s death, Jackson clarified the reason for her emotional state.
“Those are breakup tears. y’all are fkn reaching again,” she wrote in a now-deleted post.
Jackson and Long were still together in early July when she shared cozy pictures with him in an Instagram post, reflecting on her ongoing tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra. “It’s been a hell of a summer so far,” she wrote in part.
Jackson talked about wedding plans in a June interview with Access Hollywood. “The dress is being made, the venue has been picked and the date has been picked by an astrologer, because I’m from L.A.,” she said. “I’m all about the crystals and the astrologer, and all that stuff.”
Jackson and Long were first linked in 2022. She announced their engagement in December 2024. “Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you.”
A month later, Jackson celebrated five years of sobriety from alcohol and heroin.
“Hi, i’m pk,” she wrote on Instagram, referencing her first and middle name, Paris Katherine. “and i’m an alcoholic and a heroin addict.”
“Today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that i’m thankful would be a poor euphemism.”
“It’s because i’m sober that i get to smile today,” she continued. “I get to make music. i get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. i get to feel heartbreak in all it’s glory. i get to grieve. i get to laugh. i get to dance. i get to trust. i feel the sun on my skin and it’s warm.”
She concluded, “I’ve found that life keeps happening regardless of whether i’m sober or not, but today i get to show up for it.”
