Pantera Postpone and Cancel Tour Dates to Mourn Ozzy Osbourne

Pantera have announced that they are rescheduling two shows and canceling three others as they pause their summer US tour to mourn the passing of Ozzy Osbourne.

The band did play four concerts after Ozzy’s passing on Tuesday (July 22nd), including that night in Cincinnati, where they dedicated their cover of Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan” to the metal icon, as well as gigs in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio (July 23rd), Hershey, Pennsylvania (July 25th), and Wantagh, New York (July 26th).

However, prior to the Pennsylvania concert on Friday (July 25th), Pantera announced that they were postponing shows scheduled for this Monday (July 28th) in Saratoga Springs, New York, and Thursday (July 31st) in Holmdel, New Jersey to September 9th and September 8th, respectively. They also outright canceled their Tuesday (July 29th) show in Gilford, New Hanpshire, as well as two gigs affected by the rescheduled dates: September 8th in Birmingham, Alabama, and September 10th in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

While Ozzy’s passing is a tremendous loss for everyone in the metal community, it must be especially difficult for current Pantera guitarist Zakk Wylde, a longtime member of Ozzy’s solo band. The band’s full statement reads as follows:

“Ozzy wasn’t just a legend who shaped the very foundation of heavy metal and inspired Pantera from the beginning — he was family. A mentor, a brother, and a constant presence in our lives both on and off the stage. The bond we shared with him ran far deeper than music. In light of this profound loss, we need time and space to grieve — to be with our families, our crew, and each other as we process and honor the life of someone who meant so much to us. Out of respect, and to allow members of our team the time to mourn, we will be rescheduling the following shows:

July 28 – Saratoga Springs, NY → Tuesday, September 9

July 31 – Holmdel, NJ → Monday, September 8

Due to the above, the following dates will be canceled. If you purchased through Ticketmaster, refunds will be issued automatically; there is nothing further ticketholders need to do. If you purchased from a third-party reseller (StubHub, SeatGeek, VividSeats, etc.), please reach out to your point of purchase.

July 29 – Gilford, NH

September 8 – Birmingham, AL

September 10 – Virginia Beach, VA

We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 just 17 days after the “Back to the Beginning” concert, where he gave his final performances as a solo artist and with Black Sabbath. Pantera also played the event, with Wylde performing with both Pantera and Ozzy.

Pantera’s tour will now resume August 2nd in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and run through a September 13th show in West Palm Beach, Florida. Tickets are available here.
