Packers list five questionable, rule out two vs. Commanders

GREEN BAY – The Packers have listed five players questionable and ruled out two for Thursday night’s game against the Washington Commanders.

The five questionable are cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee), right tackle Zach Tom (oblique), left guard Aaron Banks (ankle/groin), safety Zayne Anderson (knee) and defensive lineman Micah Parsons (back).

Green Bay has ruled out defensive lineman Brenton Cox Jr. (groin) and cornerback Bo Melton (shoulder).

Hobbs, who underwent a procedure on his knee early in training camp, returned to practice last Thursday and was questionable for Sunday’s game against Detroit but didn’t suit up.

Tom and Banks exited in the second half of Sunday’s 27-13 win over the Lions and didn’t return. Both were estimated on the injury report as non-participants this week, but Head Coach Matt LaFleur said on Tuesday he plans to give both veterans up until gametime to play.

“Yeah, we’ll see,” LaFleur said. “Certainly, two guys that have a lot of experience, so I’m not as concerned about them. We’re walking through, but there’s no live reps this week. We’ll just see where we’re at.”

Former first-round pick Jordan Morgan finished Sunday’s game in Banks’ spot at left guard while recently acquired offensive lineman Darian Kinnard initially stepped in for Tom at right tackle.

The 6-foot-5, 322-pound Kinnard, acquired last month in a trade with Philadelphia, has made one career start in four NFL regular-season appearances since he was drafted in the fifth round by Kansas City in 2022.

“I just approach it like every week,” Kinnard said. “Just approach it like I’m ready to play in the game – any point, any moment. Whatever happens, happens.”

The team continues to monitor Parsons, who was estimated as limited in practice this week after playing 29 snaps in his Packers debut against the Lions.

Green Bay didn’t issue a game status for linebacker Quay Walker (quadricep), who was upgraded from a non-participant Monday to limited Tuesday and full participation Wednesday.

In addition to Walker, the following Packers players are expected to be available: receiver Jayden Reed (foot), quarterback Jordan Love (left thumb), receiver Matthew Golden (ankle), defensive lineman Barryn Sorrell (knee), punter Daniel Whelan (right knee), and receiver Dontayvion Wicks (calf).

Washington has listed punter Tress Way (back) and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. (knee) as questionable for Thursday night.

The Commanders didn’t issue a game status for the following players who are expected to be available: quarterback Jayden Daniels (right wrists), running back Austin Ekeler (shoulder), receiver Noah Brown (knee), tight end John Bates (shoulder), and defensive tackle Daron Payne (calf/not injury related).
