
Democrats in the Oregon Legislature successfully advanced their transportation funding proposal through a key committee on Sunday after making some last-minute tweaks to appease Republican lawmakers.
On the third day of a special session, the legislative transportation committee approved a package that would raise taxes and fees to bolster road and bridge maintenance and public transit. The proposal passed 7-5, with only Democrats in support.
