One UI 8.0 rollout resumes for at least two Galaxy S22 variants

We have some short and sweet news for Galaxy S22 users around the world who haven’t yet updated their phones to One UI 8.0. Samsung appears to have resumed the rollout after a brief pause.

Yesterday, we reported that Samsung pulled the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update for the S22 series from its servers. No reasons were given, but it looks like One UI 8.0 is back on track with the same firmware version as the original release. The Ultra model might still be lagging.

We can confirm that One UI 8.0 is again available for the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+, but as of this writing, it looks like Samsung hasn’t resumed the release for the Galaxy S22 Ultra just yet.

This might be just a short, normal delay, or it might be the reason why Samsung had to pull the update from the servers in the first place. If anything was wrong with the release, it may have had something to do with the Ultra model.

We can’t confirm this at this point, but at least two out of three Galaxy S22 variants are now getting One UI 8.0 again.

If you’re unsure about whether or not you should update, you can wait a few more days and see how the story develops. Otherwise, you can grab One UI 8 via Settings > Software update > Download and install.

And if you’re unfamiliar with One UI 8.0, you can read more about it here and watch the video below. But keep in mind that some features — such as Now Brief — are not included in the Galaxy S22 firmware.
