Beyond Magic View, NotebookLM is set to introduce practical upgrades:

- Fast Research Option: Added alongside Deep Research, this provides users with a quicker, more concise reporting path. This distinction helps accommodate both in-depth exploration and situations where speed is a priority, though it remains separate from the main search function for now.
There’s also confirmation that the new styles coming to Video Overviews will be powered by Nano Banana, Google’s lightweight model known for rapid generation and on-device editing. Users will be able to try these updated styles via a direct link from the announcement to the Video Overviews customization settings.
These features serve researchers, educators, and anyone summarizing or presenting complex material in NotebookLM, aligning with Google’s continued focus on user customization and workflow optimization.
