Football:
Linebacker play has been a point of contention since Kalen Deloach and Tatum Bethune moved on to the NFL. 2024 like almost everything related to FSU football, saw a year of very frustrating play but by the end of 2024 some notable second-year players started to put some good tape on the film. Fast-forward to a new scheme and some scheme-specific additions from the transfer portal and I’m feeling somewhat positive about the linebacker group heading into 2025.
Umm, duh:

“I think it is pretty obvious people have not been staying within that cap.”

The lip-service about staying within the cap is just that, lip service.
A year after CBS ranked him untouchable Mike Norvell has the fourth hottest seat in the ACC.
Recruiting:
On3 has bought Rivals.com and has merged the two recruiting services together, what does that mean and why is relevant to Florida State? For FSU purposes it doesn’t mean much the merging did lead to a release of the new Rivals300 and the rise of FSU four-star DB Jay Timmons ranking from unranked to 39th nationally in the country.
Scout’s Take: “Lawrence “Jay” Timmons has been a menace on the camp circuit this spring and summer. His ability to mirror and blanket receivers is almost second nature to him. The instincts and recovery speed to stay in-phase with receivers throughout the route is impressive, but it’s his ability to play through the hands and make plays on the football that makes him one of the more complete packages at the position. Timmons has some of the best pure cover skills of any cornerback in the country.” — Cody Bellaire, National Scout
