Update []: Moon Studios CEO Thomas Mahler has been replying to people on social media about this today, confirming that No Rest for the Wicked will be on Xbox eventually, but a PS5 launch “makes most sense at the moment”.

Original Story: The latest game from the team behind the amazing Ori series – Moon Studios – is currently available in early access on PC in the form of No Rest for the Wicked, and the hope is that we’ll be playing it on Xbox eventually as well.
At launch on console though, it sounds like No Rest for the Wicked will either be a PS5 exclusive, or a PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, with Moon Studios CEO Thomas Mahler stating on the game’s official Discord server recently that an Xbox version might be skipped “for the time being” due to “current market conditions”.
Here’s what he had to say on the platform a couple of days ago:
“Btw, given current market conditions, we might only release on PS5 and potentially Switch 2 for the time being – we’ll have to discuss things with MS to see what makes sense for Xbox.”
Now, before anyone gets too worried, No Rest for the Wicked was confirmed for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S all the way back in 2023, and an Xbox version was apparently in the works last year as well.
There’s a lot of hysteria on social media already that the game has been “cancelled” for Xbox – but the phrase “for the time being” and a suggestion that Moon Studios will be talking to Microsoft about the situation suggests we’ll be getting an Xbox release eventually – although who knows when it’ll actually arrive.
Let’s hope it won’t be too long, as we’re really keen to check out this new action RPG on Series X and S!
