With the Switch 2 now in stores–and selling quite well–Nintendo is kicking off its new console era with one of its semi-regular Direct livestreams. Nintendo says that today’s event will offer roughly 25 minutes of information on “upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games” from its publishing partners, a description that it has used in the past for livestreams focused on third-party games. What this means is that we probably won’t be getting a new extended look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, but that does pave the way for some exciting announcements to potentially be made.
We already know that games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake are on the way to the system, so a confirmed release date for it would be quite nice. Then there are the games rumored to be headed to the Switch 2, like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Starfield, and Diablo 4. Could this also be the day that Hollow Knight: Silksong fans have been waiting years for? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to tune in and watch.
