The Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program is getting a second run, it’s been announced.
Those with an active membership to the service’s Expansion Pack tier, are at least 18 years old, and reside in certain territories will be eligible to join. Sign-ups start on a first-come, first-served basis on July 21 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM in the UK / 5 PM in Europe. You’ll be able to register here, though it’s not guaranteed you’ll be selected – 40,000 participants will be chosen.
According to Nintendo, this is another test of a “service”. However, it appears to be the same as what was offered last October. There is one difference though as those who are selected will be able to play on Nintendo Switch 2 (Switch is still eligible as well).
If you’re chosen, you’ll be able to try out the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program starting on July 28. It will run until August 10.
Details about the program were leaked last year, which you can read about here. It was also later discovered that former Splatoon directors led the way on the mystery project.
