Character action game Ninja Gaiden 4 won’t release until later this month, but Xbox Game Studios has already announced the first DLC for it.
That’s probably because those who stump up for the Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Edition Upgrade will be entitled to the new content when it deploys in early 2026.
So, what does it entail?
Well, the primary addition appears to be new weapons for dual protagonists Yakumo and Ryu.
Speaking as part of an Official Xbox Podcast, Team Ninja’s Masakazu Hirayama explained:
“Yakumo’s new weapon captures his personality and his approach to combat with his expressive abilities. Whereas Ryu’s weapon, as you can probably glean from the key visual, has a more precise look to it and will allow you to perform powerful and high-speed abilities. Each of these weapons will have its own distinct qualities and a plethora of mechanics for players to dig into. So, we invite players to look forward to it.”
There’ll also be a fresh storyline set after the events of the main game, as well as an entire new roster of combat challenges, separate from those already included day one.
“There is a lot of content for players to dig into,” Hirayama concluded. “And we can’t wait to share more details with players as they become available.”
Obviously, it’s unlikely we’ll learn more about this DLC until after release now, because all of the team’s energy will be on getting the game out, on 21st October.
