Nicole Kidman isn’t going through her divorce from Keith Urban alone; she’s leaning on one of her favorite A-list pals to get her through the emotional situation.
The 58-year-old actress’ longtime bestie, Naomi Watts, is reportedly stepping up “to talk out how she needs to cope with the situation,” according to the Daily Mail. “There has been a lot of advice flowing, and Nic listens because Naomi has been through it herself; she had a very public split from Heath Ledger, then Liev Schreiber, so she knows how challenging heartbreak in the spotlight can be.”

Watts went through a major split from Schrieber in 2016 after 11 years and two children together, Sasha, 17, and Kai, 16. “Over the past few months, we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple,” they said in a statement to People at the time.

Kidman was there for Watts, and now her Australian friend is returning the favor. Watts is offering “clever advice” about the Oscar winner being “as honest as can be with the public and just get it out there and over with so fans can process and move on,” per the Daily Mail source.
The women’s friendship began in their teens in an audition waiting room for a bikini commercial in the 1980s. Their bond was cemented when they were both cast in the 1991 film, Flirting. When Kidman was honored at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award in April 2024, it was Watts who celebrated her BFF.
“She’s opened up her homes to me. She’s made me feel like part of her family. She was like the sister I’d never had,” Watts gushed. “She’s incredibly supportive of other women. For ten years, when I lived very much under the radar, she repeated to me, ‘One thing, Nay, one thing will change everything, I swear. Just hang in there.’”
That friendship has never wavered, and when they needed each other the most, Kidman and Watts have always been there for each other.
