- Nicole Kidman has debuted one of her shortest hairstyles in years for a new photoshoot.
- This follows her appearance at Paris Fashion Week on October 6, sporting new bangs and appearing at the Chanel show on Monday in her new role as a global ambassador for the brand.
- Kidman filed for divorce from her husband of 19 years, Keith Urban, on September 30, just one day after news broke of the dissolution of their marriage.
Here’s an understatement—Nicole Kidman is experiencing changes right now in this season of her life. One of them? A hair transformation as part of a new cover shoot for Vogue, which appears to be her shortest hair in years.
The photoshoot and its accompanying interview came on the heels of Kidman filing for divorce from her husband of 19 years, Keith Urban, on September 30, just one day after news of their separation broke. Though the interview was conducted prior to that bombshell news breaking, Kidman might have hinted at what was coming to the outlet, saying poignantly, “How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?”
“Taking a risk is what I’ve always done,” she added elsewhere in the interview. “You get back up and you try again and you learn.”

In addition to her short hair, Kidman—a new Chanel ambassador—recently debuted what has been colloquially known as “breakup bangs” at the brand’s Paris Fashion Week show on October 6, where she posed alongside the daughters she shares with Urban, 17-year-old Sunday Rose and 14-year-old Faith Margaret.
“I’m just very nervous,” Kidman said ahead of the show on Monday. “I have my daughters coming with me, but I’m very excited for [creative director] Matthieu [Blazy] because this is a big moment for him. To be able to celebrate him with his first show with Chanel and the beginning of an incredible journey together is exciting.”

Wearing cashmere jeans and a white button-up shirt, Kidman’s hair represented what her hairstylist Adir Abergel called her “new bang era.”
“We pulled references from the early 1970s—think soft texture, lived-in movement, and that iconic French girl nonchalance,” Abergel said, calling the style a “fresh cut.”
Of joining Chanel as an ambassador, Kidman told WWD, “As someone who has such an appreciation for haute couture, I am so looking forward to witnessing Matthieu’s vision for the oldest haute couture house still in operation and having the opportunity to wear what I know will be gorgeous creations. Chanel has always been ahead of the curve, shining a smart and gracious light on women, and I am sure Matthieu will be no exception, just like Karl [Lagerfeld] did in his time.”

Following her split news, the actress is “surprisingly level-headed and calm,” a source told People. “Now that it’s out, she’s just focused on what’s ahead and her girls.”
“She’s had a good attitude about everything, and life goes on,” another insider told People, adding that Kidman “is happy to be back at work.”
