The fitness community is mourning the loss of a motivational leader.
Nicole Brenda Santos Marins, a Brazilian based fitness content creator, has died, her husband Alisson Cravo confirmed on Instagram Aug. 19. She was 28.
Marins—mom to a 6-year-old son—had been driving a motorcycle down a Brazilian highway Aug. 18 when she began experiencing mechanical difficulties and pulled off onto the shoulder, the Brazilian Federal Highway Police told NationalWorld. She was then hit by a “large” oncoming vehicle, which promptly fled the scene, authorities said.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
Following his wife’s passing, Cravo shared a series of emotional posts to his Instagram Story, calling Marins, in statements translated from Portuguese, an “amazing woman, warrior, worker, a wonderful mother who would do everything to see the smile of her prince.”
“You were my safe haven,” Cravo wrote in an Aug. 19 Instagram Story. “You gave me a ground that I never had. A light. Doing good to you kept me alive. You made me feel like a real man. You made me recognize that I can be someone, that I can be good, and I will strive to improve every day for you.”

Heartbreakingly, Cravo also detailed the final moments with his wife following her fatal crash.
“I ran from the gym trying to think that it could be fake,” he continued in Portuguese. “I left running with a racing heart not believing that there were sirens there, anxiety was beating, leaving me breathless to get close, but when I saw you on the ground I despaired.”
Indeed, Cravo shared that he was by his wife’s side until the end.

“I wanted to feel your pain,” he continued, “Not let you feel alone and hug you, give you my lap and calm you down as always you said you loved it, only you had the power to calm me down and I felt insufficient once again, even you always proving to me that I was everything for you, we were together until the end, go It’s hard to smile without your smile, but give me your strength from above.”
Just days before her death, Marins—who was a personal trainer and shared fitness inspiration and tips to her thousands of Instagram followers—shared a photo of the couple on a hot air balloon ride, calling it a “weekend well spent.”
Cravo, for his part, called it the “best weekend” of their lives in another tribute post.
“My greatest happiness was to provide you with everything I had within my reach, and always promising to protect you and take care of you,” he noted. “My eternal girl. I will miss you in my heart, be safe and at peace.”
