Succession star and Ray’s Bar owner Nicholas Braun was arrested on DUI and operating-without-lights charges in New Hampshire on Friday, August 29, per TMZ, in the type of event that is sure to ruin a three-day weekend. He allegedly spent one hour in lockup before going free, though he will return to court for an arraignment on September 16. The police camera was allegedly not working, which means there’s no headshot to add or not add to the list of “surprisingly hot celebrity DUI mugshots.” Neither Braun nor his reps returned a request for comment, and Vulture is still awaiting confirmation from the Moultonborough Police Department.
It was not a good holiday weekend to be a New Yorker driving in New Hampshire. Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani was in a traffic accident on Saturday, August 30, in Manchester, New Hampshire — a little under 70 miles away from where Braun was pulled over. That these would happen so close (geographically) is pure coincidence, but one can’t help but wonder if there is a grand conspiracy to get New Yorkers off New Hampshire roads when they may be vacationing away from the city.
