The NFL indefinitely suspended a Bills fan from all league stadiums for hitting Baltimore Ravens wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and quarterback Lamar Jackson in the helmet during Sunday night’s game.
The Bills announced the fan’s suspension on Monday. ESPN first reported the news.
The fan was ejected from the Sunday night game after he shoved the side of Hopkins’ helmet after the receiver caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Jackson, giving Baltimore a 34-19 lead with just over one minute remaining in the third quarter.
After scoring, Jackson and Hopkins walked past the stands as they were celebrating. That’s when the fan reached over the front row and shoved the side of Hopkins’ helmet. The fan then hit the front of Jackson’s helmet forcefully, and Jackson retaliated by pushing the fan in the chest with both hands.

“Look, he’s a Bills fan, he’s part of Bills Mafia but (that’s) inexcusable,” Ryan Fitzpatrick, a former Buffalo quarterback who is now an Amazon Prime Video analyst, said. “It’s one thing (if) somebody does a Lambeau Leap that’s not a Packer and you’re in there, you got to sort of catch them and push them back in, I get it, but he reached across, did it to multiple players, D-Hop and Lamar. Completely inexcusable, and with things like that, you have to be able to set the example.”
The Bills went on to win 41-40 in a thrilling comeback.
