NFL Preseason 2025: Seahawks vs. Raiders 1st half game thread

The last time we saw the Seattle Seahawks in action, Geno Smith threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to Noah Fant and Artie Burns made a fourth-down stop to seal a 30-25 win over the Los Angeles Rams. None of the players I just mentioned is on the current Seahawks roster.

A new season is upon us and it starts with a home preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders. While starters will be scarce, this ain’t your ordinary preseason game. Pete Carroll, Geno Smith, and Jamal Adams are all back in town. I think it’s safe to say Pete will be universally (or close to universally) remembered fondly and given a huge ovation.

As for the actual game, it’ll be a lot of backups. No Sam Darnold, no Cooper Kupp, no Ernest Jones IV, Devon Witherspoon, etc. We will, however, see Grey Zabel, Nick Emmanwori, Tory Horton, Jalen Milroe, and other exciting rookies on the field throughout the night. There is much excitement over the young talent the Seahawks have acquired, and there are position battles yet to be decided at right guard, bottom-end of wide receiver, and I suppose the bottom rung of the safety and corner positions.

KING-5 NBC and NFL Network have the action at 7 pm PT.

For the first time this season and the first time under the new Field Gulls…
