Moments ago, a Galaxy S26 Ultra firmware leak confirmed that Samsung is working on the next big software update for the upcoming flagship: One UI 8.5. We also received a tip that the company is developing a new Samsung Internet version for the S26 and the next version of One UI.
This upcoming Samsung Internet version for the Galaxy S26 running One UI 8.6 may or may not feature an improved address and tab bar design. Samsung is relatively early in development, so we can’t be sure of any changes at the moment.
One UI 8.5 is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series, the latter of which should be announced in early 2026. As usual, many Samsung apps will be updated to match One UI 8.5, but only time will tell what these updates will entail.
For now, we can only be sure that Samsung is at least testing new Internet app versions for the upcoming Galaxy S26.
Until then, Samsung has a lot of work to do to bring One UI 8.0 to more phones. The update debuted with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 series, and it’s being beta-tested on the Galaxy S25.
