Gamescom 2025 is taking place between August 20 and 24, and we already know that the upcoming ASUS ROG Xbox Ally handhelds will be playable at the event. ASUS confirmed this only yesterday, and more rumors have surfaced following the big announcement. According to French publication Dealabs, they will also be available for pre-order during Gamescom.
At the event, the handhelds will be running several titles for the public to enjoy. This includes Roblox, Sea of Thieves, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, and, perhaps most importantly, Hollow Knight: Silksong – the highly anticipated sequel that isn’t even out yet.
ROG Xbox Ally handhelds might get pre-orders at Gamescom
According to respected leaker bilbil-kun, pre-orders for the new devices will open at Gamescom at the previously leaked price tags (see down below). It is claimed that both models will go on sale on August 20, just as the event kicks off. On the same day, Xbox will be holding its first Gamescom 2025 broadcast to show off the new handhelds and more; the schedule is as follows:

Previous price leaks include one from an official Spanish partner that places the new Xbox-edition ROG Ally and ROG Ally X at €599 and €899, respectively. The latter is fitted with the new Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip you’ll find in MSI’s new Claw A8, so don’t expect it to come cheap. We don’t yet know how much it will cost in the US or the UK. Solely based on price conversions, the Ally X could end up costing around $1,050, while the non-X model would sit around $699.
