We’ve already had a first look at what is alleged to be the battery for the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, but a new photo gives us a really good sense of just how thin it is.
The photo shows the battery side-by-side with that of the iPhone 17 Pro …
The iPhone 17 Air
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the slimmest iPhone Apple has ever made, with a reported thickness of about 5.5 mm.
The sleek form factor does involve some significant compromises, including a single camera compared to the three cameras you get on the Pro models.
Battery life is another drawback with the upcoming slim model, as Apple has had to significantly reduce the thickness of the battery to fit into the casing. Leaks have suggested that the capacity is 2800mAh, which compares to the 3500mAh capacity of last year’s iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to have an even higher capacity of about 5000mAh.

Those battery capacity reports gained further credence in the last few days as we have seen what are claimed to be the first photos of the actual batteries used.
Leaker Majin Bu shared several photos of the battery on Friday, and Chinese blogger Yeux1122 has this morning showed a side-on photo of the battery next to that of the iPhone 17 Pro.
