Though SQ is primarily known for being a successful Persona 4 Arena competitor, she managed to take fifth place at Combo Breaker 2025‘s Guilty Gear Strive event earlier this year. She managed to place this high by playing Ramlethal throughout the event.
Just recently, SQ released her “final Guilty Gear Strive version 4.1 tier list” that ranks every fighter in Guilty Gear Strive into one of ten different tier categories. One character sits above the rest and has been labeled as a “failure of game design.”
SQ’s tier list ranks Potemkin as being the best character in Guilty Gear Strive. Based on the wording of this tier list, it seems that SQ is suggesting that Potemkin be given some major nerfs.
Leo, Johnny and Ramlethal are also said to be quite strong in Guilty Gear Strive as SQ has labeled them as being “broken.” Other meta defining characters are Happy Chaos, Goldlewis, Nagoriyuki, Chipp, May and Sin.
On the other end of things, Axl Low and Queen Dizzy are said to be in need of buffs as they’re described as being “awful.” Venom, Zato-1, Bedman, Faust and Asuka are also near the bottom of SQ’s list.
SQ notes that this tier list is ordered within each tier category. We’ll just have to see how much the meta changes when Lucy is added as the next DLC character. After her, Guilty Gear Strive will be overhauled via a big 2.0 update.
