The Television Academy has announced the first winners of the 77th Emmy Awards in juried categories, including Animation, Costume, Emerging Media Programming and Motion Design.
Leading the pack is Netflix’s Love, Death + Robots with four wins, two for its “400 Boys” episode in Character Animation and Character Design, two for its “How Zeke Got Religion” in Production Design and Storyboard. Netflix’s Arcane followed with two wins, one for its ‘The Dirt Under Your Nails” episode in Background Design, and the other for “The Message Hidden Within the Pattern” for Color.
Other winners are Prime Video’s Octopus!, Shibuya.Film‘s White Rabbit and Netflix’s Beyoncé Bowl in the Outstanding Costumes For Variety, Nonfiction Or Reality Programming category, Beyoncé’s first-ever Emmy award.
Juried awards will be presented at the 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which will take place at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live over two consecutive nights, Saturday, Sept. 6, and Sunday, Sept. 7. An edited presentation will air Saturday, Sept. 13, at 8 PM PDT on FXX.
Per the Academy, juried category entrants are screened by a panel of professionals in the appropriate peer groups (Animation, Costume Design, Emerging Media Programming, and Motion and Title Design) with the possibility of one, more than one or no entry awarded an Emmy. As a result, there are no nominees but instead a one-step evaluation and voting procedure. Deliberations include open discussions of each entrant’s work with a thorough review of the merits of awarding the Emmy.
The 77th Emmy Awards will telecast live from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, (8-11 PM EDT/5-8 PM PDT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
