New Jersey residents should expect a blustery and stormy next few days, though the worst of the weather may clear out in time for Halloween on Friday night.
A developing coastal storm system will bring increasingly northeast winds to New Jersey Tuesday with gusts reaching 25 to 30 mph, especially along the coast.
Some light showers are possible along coastal areas.
Temperatures on Tuesday will reach the mid to upper 50s across New Jersey, with overnight lows in the 40s for most areas.
Wednesday will have similar high temperatures in the mid to upper 50s with increasing clouds and a chance of showers, particularly in coastal areas.

The main storms will arrive Thursday into Thursday night as a strengthening low pressure system moves across the region.
This storm is expected to bring periods of moderate to heavy rain with rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches possible across most of New Jersey.
The National Weather Service has issued a marginal risk for excessive rainfall, indicating some potential for urban and poor drainage flooding.
Wind gusts will intensify from Thursday into Thursday night, potentially reaching 35 to 40 mph along the coast with easterly and southeasterly winds.

These strong onshore winds combined with high tides will create concerns for minor to moderate coastal flooding, particularly during Thursday’s high tide cycles.
Temperatures on Thursday will warm slightly into the lower 60s.
Friday will bring improving conditions for Halloween trick-or-treaters as the storm system departs, though winds will shift to the west with potential gusts of 30-40 mph.
High temperatures Friday will be in the mid to upper 50s.
The weekend looks drier with high pressure building in, though temperatures will remain seasonably cool with highs in the 50s and overnight lows in the 30s to low 40s.

Looking ahead to early next week, another coastal low pressure system could bring more unsettled weather to the region.
There remains uncertainty regarding the track and intensity of this potential system.
